KLCS Programming

Project Overview

Project Name: KLCS Programming
Project Support Years: 2020

Involvement

The Foundation was honored to provide funding for KLCS (a Los Angeles PBS station) in order to expand support for local and childrens educational programming. Our grant was directed to several emerging needs - quality instructional content, additional production staff, and field and editing equipment.

Project Summary

KLCS, a non-commercial PBS member station in Los Angeles, is a full-power broadcast station and a must-carry on all cable providers servicing the LA market, with a potential reach of over 15 million viewers in Southern California. KLCS reached out to us with a proposal that would help them expand their branches and production capabilities for producing more high quality local and children's educational programming. Our grant helped to fund programs for KLCS including Story Pirates, Sustaining US, Everybody with Angela Williamson, the Outdoor L.A. Series, LAUSD Wellness Programs Presents: Nutritious Bites and Everyday Fitness, Discovery Education Experience, LA County Library’s Story Hackers.
